Blizzard games are some of the most important PC components out there.
They have some magic power known as “Game Client s”. This is actually a misnomer for Blizzard games because there are so many things about these that make them unlike any other game s on earth. Some people say you can only get the fulls experience if you play them at their main servers.
But since they’re s, perhaps it’s ok to move them to a new SSD? Game s with s tend to be more responsive and feel that much better than when played from physical media (or optical drive s)?
How to move games to SSD?
When SSD s started to get really popular and affordable, people wondered if it’s possible to move s to ssd s. But the answer turned out it wasn’t. The reason for this is that s (in Blizzard games or any other program s) are not designed to be run from SATA drives. They do work on SATA drives s though, but won’t perform as well as they would if played from the optical drive.
Is there any way around this?
You can try using virtual machine software such as VMware Fusion or VirtualBox, install Windows on them and then install your blizzard games. This works, but you’ll need a beast of a computer in order to play these games at their max settings. Another solution would be to copy s from your ssd s and move them to optical drive s and then play them on your machine.
There was a Third solution: playings from physical hard drives: You can get an mSATA card or put 2 SATA s together in a RAID 0 array. The downside of this is that you need two SATA ports on the motherboard (or another controller). And if not using mSATA, you’d need enough power for all these, which could get expensive. But the advantage of having 4-7 times faster access time than regular hard drives make up for it.
But what if we want even more speed? Like 7200 RPM speed (1/10 th the latency compared to ssd s)?
Buy for your SSDs
Sounds crazy, but it’s the only solution at the moment that offers s speed on s drive s. It’s worth mentioning that these are used s. Because of this, they’re really cheap compared to their new price – even if you have to pay some money for shipping it could be cheaper than buying an SSD. Of course, you should find some reliable seller so you won’t get scammed. These drives are easy to maintain because all you have to do is move them from one computer to another (just don’t forget to format them before )
One more thing: You’ll need s compatible with your motherboard or controller (i.e., SATA or SAS) and s that are SATA s2 or SATA s3. These can cost a bit more, but you should still end up paying less than half of what you’d pay for an SSD.
